An ex-marathon runner who ballooned to 500 pounds has vowed to get his trainers back on 40 years after his first race. Chris Larkin, 63, was just 23 when he ran his first marathon in 1982 - when he weighed a healthy 185 pounds. But after falling into a routine of fast food dinners and little exercise, Chris piled on the pounds and at his heaviest he tipped the scales at just under 560 pounds. Now the dad-of-two has embarked on a weight loss mission and shed a whopping 130 pounds And he plans to run The Great Welsh marathon in 2022. He said: "It creeps up on you.  Anthony Brown says clean living just didn't work for him so ditched the healthy food for smaller portions of his favourite junk foods. The 34-year-old, who had been overweight for years, decided to weigh himself after a family health scare. He was shocked when the scales - which had a maximum weight at 350 lbs - just displayed an error message. That meant the 34-year-old from Riverside, California, had a weight too large to be registered by the equipment. But after a month of following Keto diet- eating oatmeal, grilled chicken and vegetables, he ditched the healthy way of life and decided smaller portions of fast food and snacks made for a better tactic.
